Disaster Relief Update from Japan

It’s been a very busy year for our disaster relief ministry. September finds Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers heading out to serve in New York, Maryland and North Carolina, as well as serving on the other side of the world in Japan.

The northern coast of Japan was stuck by a devastating earthquake and tsunami in March 2011. The disaster cost thousands of lives and caused tremendous damage across the region.

A team of six Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers is currently serving in the Iwate Prefecture. The team is ministering in a number of ways, including debris clean-up.

In this video interview, KBC Assistant Executive Director Steve Thompson talks with Coy Webb, disaster relief associate, about the team’s work.
